Senior Database Administrator -

Our client, a global telecoms and technology business, based in Dublin, are hiring for a Senior Database Administrator to to provide DBA support to the database development engineers, addressing design and performance issues as well as working with other database engineers to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems.

This DBA role requires a service oriented mentality, high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned, focus on managing and resolving issues in a prompt & efficient manor, establishing and maintaining communication to ensure the smooth transition of database changes from development to production environments in adherence with the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of SQL Server data stores: row store and column store, optimisations
• Good knowledge of provisioning environments in AWS on RDS Aurora PostgreSQL
• Good knowledge of PostgreSQL Monitoring & Alerting
• Excellent communications skills to clearly articulate complex technical issues to all levels of the organisation (both technical and non-technical).
• Ability to approach problems with a sense of ownership, enthusiasm, and innovation
• BSc computer science/engineering or similar, preferred.

This is an immediate start Ltd company/umbrella contract role which will run for a minimum period of 6 months, with the potential to either extend up to 12, 18 and 24 months and/or become permanent (although this is not guaranteed).

In this position you would be responsible for paying all of you own relevant taxes and deductions in country.

This position is working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
