Contract | Hybrid | Perth or Glasgow
We are supporting a large organisation in the energy sector that is seeking a qualified Accountant to join their finance team on a fixed-term contract . This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong controls and timely delivery of month-end and statutory requirements.
The position is offered on a hybrid working pattern , based in Perth or Glasgow , and would suit someone who enjoys working in a structured, deadline-driven finance environment.
The role
As an Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting core financial reporting and control activities, working closely with both finance colleagues and operational teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering accurate and timely month-end close activities
- Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations post month-end
- Supporting the preparation of statutory accounts and meeting regulatory deadlines
- Responding to external audit queries and ensuring compliance with financial controls
- Liaising with operational site teams to support financial reporting and performance
- Following and contributing to the improvement of robust financial control processes
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Full qualification with a recognised accounting body (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- 1-2 years' post-qualification experience
- The ability to work to tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- A diligent, methodical approach with flexibility to support ad hoc tasks when required
- Strong working knowledge of financial systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Confidence to constructively challenge and support colleagues , with a proactive and solution-focused mindset
