Project Description
The project is focused on migrating the existing AEM implementation from Adobe Managed Services (AMS) to AEM as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS). The scope covers all current public-facing websites hosted on AMS, with the objective of ensuring a seamless transition to AEMaaCS while maintaining stability, performance, and compliance with client's standards. The project will begin with a discovery phase in 2025, followed by execution during Q1 and Q2 of 2026. The targeted outcome is a modernized, cloud-native AEM setup that improves scalability, performance, and maintainability while leveraging new AEMaaCS features and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Leading the technical design and architecture for the migration from AMS to AEMaaCS.
- Assessing the current AEM landscape (sites, integrations, customizations, and workflows).
- Reviewing and refining the existing migration plan, providing expert guidance on improvements and adaptations.
- Defining the migration approach, roadmap, and best practices to optimize the move to cloud-native AEM.
- Providing guidance on refactoring custom components, templates, and integrations for AEMaaCS compatibility.
- Ensuring alignment with Adobe and client's security, compliance, and performance standards.
- Supporting the development team with architectural decisions, code reviews, and solution design.
- Acting as a bridge between business stakeholders, Adobe experts, and delivery teams to ensure a smooth migration process.
Challenges
- Complexity of migrating multiple public-facing websites and ensuring minimal downtime.
- Refactoring custom developments, integrations, and legacy components to align with AEMaaCS limitations and best practices.
- Coordinating across multiple stakeholders (Adobe, internal teams, and delivery partners).
- Ensuring regulatory compliance and security in a highly regulated financial environment.
- Adapting to new DevOps and CI/CD pipelines required for AEMaaCS.
Important Notes:
- The architect should have prior experience with AEMaaCS migrations and strong knowledge of AMS environments.
- The role is critical immediately to validate and adapt the migration plan, and subsequently during execution in 2026 to drive architecture and delivery.
