We are currently seeking an experienced Consents & Environment Manager to support the delivery of major infrastructure projects within a leading organisation. This is a key role focused on ensuring projects meet all environmental, planning, and regulatory requirements while supporting successful project delivery.
The Role
You will play a critical role in managing environmental consents and compliance across large-scale infrastructure projects. Working closely with project teams, contractors, consultants, and external stakeholders, you will ensure that all environmental and planning obligations are met, enabling projects to progress safely and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the discharge of planning conditions and management of environmental licences to support project delivery
- Ensure compliance with all environmental, regulatory, and internal standards across project sites
- Manage environmental consultants, including scoping, tendering, and overseeing delivery of surveys and assessments
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including regulators, local authorities, and statutory bodies
- Support project teams and contractors in meeting environmental and consenting requirements
- Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with planning and environmental obligations
- Promote best practice in environmental performance and sustainability across projects
Experience
- Proven experience working on major infrastructure or construction projects
- Strong background in environmental consents, planning, or regulatory compliance
- Experience managing consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Understanding of project delivery processes , including cost, risk, and programme management
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and compliance
- Degree in an environmental or related discipline
- Professional membership (e.g. IEMA) is desirable
