The Opportunity
We are working with a leading organisation in the utilities sector to recruit a Customer Service Advisor on an initial 6 month contract based in Reading. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced customer service professional to join a fast-paced, high-performing team where your attention to detail and problem-solving skills will make a real difference to customers.
The Role
As part of the Unbilled team, you will play a key role in resolving billing issues for customers, ensuring they receive accurate, reliable bills and an exceptional level of service. You will also act as an internal point of contact for billing queries, supporting colleagues across the business with clear and timely resolutions.
Day to day you will be:
- Investigating and resolving billing discrepancies, ensuring data accuracy and alignment with internal reports
- Owning the resolution process for billing-related queries from both customers and internal teams
- Verifying and processing billing adjustments, issuing credits or debits and managing customer communications
- Identifying patterns and recommending areas for improvement
- Sharing knowledge of billing practices to support effective team operations
- Proven customer service experience, ideally within a call centre or high-volume environment
- Confident and professional telephone manner with a genuine passion for delivering excellent service
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyse data and identify discrepancies
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Experience within the energy or utilities sector is desirable but not essential
- 6 month contract
- Reading based with hybrid working — 2 to 3 days per week in office
