EMEA Payroll Consultant
Location:  Reading, Berkshire (Remote/Hybrid depending on location)
Employment Type:  6 Month Contract
Pay Rate:  £20.00-£25.00 per hour
  
We are seeking an  EMEA Payroll Consultant  to join our clients team. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, supporting employees across multiple countries, and driving operational excellence in payroll practices.
  
What you’ll be doing:
  
  • Gathering, deriving, and processing payroll inputs to vendors to support gross-to-net calculations.
  • Processing payroll data in line with prescribed timetables.
  • Verifying payroll output and reviewing with the Payroll Associate Director.
  • Preparing and delivering payroll reports within agreed timeframes.
  • Ensuring accurate net payments and completing payroll reconciliations.
  • Supporting year-end activities including BIK reporting and compliance filings.
  • Partnering with payroll providers and local HR teams to ensure compliance with local employment tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Responding to employee payroll queries across multiple service channels while meeting SLAs.
  • Supporting testing of payroll system changes, upgrades, or enhancements.
  • Assisting internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
  • Driving process improvements and efficiencies in payroll operations.
  
What we’re looking for:
  
  • Proven experience in HRMS/Payroll Processing/Timekeeping system applications.
  • Hands-on experience processing payroll within at least one EMEA country.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  
Even better if you have:
  
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or FPC certification.
  • Experience with Workday HR system and payroll operations.
  • Knowledge of year-end payroll processes and rules.
  • Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel.
  • Experience in Finance Operations, preferably Payroll.
  • Additional European language skills (Dutch, French, Italian, or German).
  • Strong customer service mindset – empathetic, clear, and professional in both verbal and written communication.
