About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Controller to support financial planning, reporting, and analysis across multiple UK corporate entities.
This role is central to business performance management, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close, while also supervising the local accounting function.
You will work closely with the Finance Director and collaborate with stakeholders across the UK and international finance teams, ensuring high-quality reporting and financial integrity across all operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead forecast cycles including budgets, strategic plans, and high-level forecasts.
- Prepare budgets for labour costs, brand fees, intercompany recharges, support functions, tax, and other operational expenditure.
- Coordinate with international controlling teams to ensure accurate consolidated budgets.
- Manage month-end accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial analysis.Prepare monthly reporting packages and respond to consolidation and controlling queries.
- Support the Finance Director in preparing Board packs and financial reviews.
- Complete Office for National Statistics reporting and assist with year-end audit activities.
- Calculate royalty/brand fee accruals and invoices in line with licensing agreements.
- Manage aged debt, resolve discrepancies, and reconcile intercompany balances.
- Collaborate with legal teams during contract updates related to brand licensing.
- Ensure accurate tax calculations, timely HMRC submissions, VAT compliance, and robust accounting controls.
- Supervise the accounting team to ensure deadlines and quality standards are consistently met.
Experience & Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA?ACA).
- 5+ years’ PQ experience in finance, including management accounting and financial analysis.
- Strong experience within large or complex organisations.
- High proficiency in Excel and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with systems such as Magnitude, Altais, or OFusion is advantageous.
- French language ability is a plus but not essential.
