This position sits within a high-performing Project Engineering team focused on AC Overhead Line systems across large-scale transmission projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering engineering support across the full project lifecycle on 400kV, 275kV, and 132kV overhead line projects.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering support across transmission overhead line projects from development through to delivery.
  • Review contractor and consultant design proposals, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and specifications.
  • Take ownership of project engineering activities, ensuring engineering governance and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Act as the primary engineering contact for overhead line matters at project, commercial, and site meetings.
  • Support the management of engineering risks and identify opportunities to improve project outcomes.
  • Promote and maintain high safety standards through CDM compliance and adherence to industry regulations.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Engineering Managers to mitigate engineering and quality risks.
Requirements
  • Proven experience within overhead line engineering, ideally within transmission networks at 132kV and above.
  • Background within contractor, consultancy, or client-side energy projects.

  • Experience with design software such as PLS-CADD would be advantageous.
  • Degree or HND qualified within a relevant engineering discipline.
