Our client, one of the worlds largest technology companies are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to support our Global Reporting and Compliance team as an External Contractor.
Based in Amsterdam, this role will focus on managing the accounting and tax aspects of an M&A integration, ensuring compliance with financial reporting and tax requirements post-integration.
As the Project Manager, you will work closely with local compliance partners, tax advisors, and internal finance teams to facilitate the seamless financial integration of acquired entities.
You will be responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of the financial reporting and tax compliance integration and provide regular updates to Management.
Additionally, you will assess post-integration steps, including potential entity liquidations following a successful tech migration.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a detailed project plan and calendar for all integration activities.
- Proactively identify potential issues or challenges within the integration plan. Effectively communicate these issues to management and take the initiative to resolve them independently where possible.
- Analyze and document the financial reporting and compliance landscapes, coordinating with KPMG or other compliance partners to ensure compliance from day one.
- Assess US GAAP vs. Local GAAP Differences: Identify and document key differences to ensure appropriate adjustments for local statutory reporting.
- Oversee the in-house preparation of local financial statements to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the in-house preparation of corporate income tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate filing.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Corporate Legal, and external compliance teams to ensure smooth integration and compliance readiness.
- Scope and prepare for future entity liquidations: Assess legal and financial implications of entity liquidations post-tech migration, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA/CA/ACCA/equivalent qualification preferred
- Fluent in English
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and local GAAP reporting standards
- Experience in financial reporting, M&A integration, and tax compliance
- Project management skills to manage complex financial transitions and reporting obligations
- Experience working with large-scale ERP systems (Oracle R12 preferred)
- Ability to interact with global teams and external compliance partners
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
