Overview: We are currently seeking a highly skilled SAP Basis Architect to join a critical digital transformation program within the Utilities sector. This is a strategic, architecture-led role focused on designing robust SAP landscapes, guiding S/4HANA migration strategies, and driving cloud adoption initiatives—particularly within SAP Rise environments.
The ideal candidate will have deep SAP architecture experience, hands-on cloud migration expertise, and a strong advisory presence to support long-term SAP strategy alignment across business and IT functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design scalable, secure, and high-performing SAP system architectures (with a focus on SAP Rise)
- Define and execute migration strategies to S/4HANA and cloud platforms
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies such as SAP BTP, Kubernetes, and infrastructure automation tools
- Lead high availability and disaster recovery planning for critical systems
- Drive performance tuning, optimization, and architectural governance
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align SAP infrastructure with business and IT objectives
- 10+ years of experience in SAP Basis and SAP architecture roles
- In-depth expertise in SAP HANA, NetWeaver, SAP Rise, and cloud-based SAP deployments
- Proven experience with SAP migrations, upgrades, and landscape transformation projects
- Deep understanding of security standards, compliance, and system hardening
- Strong hands-on experience with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, etc.
- Fluent English; minimum B1 level German proficiency required
- Open to regular travel to client sites in Munich and Frankfurt (3 days per week onsite)
- Excellent communication and advisory skills
- Fast comprehension and problem-solving abilities
- Experience working within Agile teams and transformation programs
- Strong team collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
