A leading organisation is seeking a Senior Group Reporting Accountant for a 12-month contract role to support critical statutory reporting activities for their listed group.
As a key member of the Group Reporting team, you will contribute to the preparation of the group’s Annual Report and Accounts and Interim Results Statement.
You will focus on specific accounting areas of the group financial statements, preparing disclosure notes, enhancing documentation and controls, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and governance requirements.
This role involves working under tight deadlines, liaising closely with business units and external auditors, and preparing both elements of group accounts and certain subsidiary statutory accounts. You will report to the Statutory Reporting Manager and collaborate with senior finance stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review disclosures and supporting information for key notes in the consolidated financial statements, ensuring timely delivery of ARA, Preliminary Results, and Interim Results.
- Manage key controls over the group consolidation process.
- Review subsidiary financial statements and manage audits for certain corporate and holding entities.
- Act as a super-user for the group’s accounts production software (Thomson-Reuters OneSource), supporting divisional users preparing subsidiary accounts.
- Support financial reporting projects, including new accounting standards adoption, investment/divestment activities, and system implementations.
- Assist in implementing UK SOX requirements for financial reporting processes, ensuring robust compliance with relevant legislation, codes, and standards.
- Fully qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, ICAS, or equivalent) with at least 5 years of post-qualified experience in financial reporting or external audit.
- Previous experience with listed PLC reporting and consolidation processes is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and corporate governance requirements.
- Excellent interpretative and analytical skills, with the ability to tackle complex technical accounting issues.
- Strong focus on continuous improvement and process efficiency.
- Able to manage multiple complex tasks independently and effectively under pressure.
- High level of personal resilience, initiative, and drive.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Experience with Thomson-Reuters OneSource would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of statutory reporting, consolidation systems, and related workflows.
- Hybrid working model (2-3 days onsite).
