Our client, one of the worlds largest technology companies are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax Specialist to play a crucial role in shaping their tax strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Will be responsible for managing and facilitating the accurate preparation and filing of our company's tax returns.
  • Support the accounting team with any tax related accounting/ financial statement disclosures as applicable.
  • Support the business and the tax risk profile, with a specific focus on all other countries assigned.
  • Ensure timely compliance with tax reporting and filing requirements with correct tax reporting and filing with relevant tax authorities for all applicable taxes including but not limited to corporate income tax, withholding taxes, VAT and other similar direct and indirect taxes.
  • Support on project management of tax aspects for the RH business line and initiatives by identifying, documenting, and executing the tax requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align tax strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Perform tax technical research including analysis and interpretation of relevant tax laws, regulations, cases and agency guidance, and update relevant stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Provide active support to positively and successfully conclude tax audits and controversies.
  • Provide guidance to local finance, legal, government relations and operations teams.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of the group transfer pricing policy and supporting documentation.
  • Support with wider group tax, compliance and risk initiatives.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • At least 2+ years of professional tax experience, preferably in a corporate setting or public accounting. (Experience in a Big 4 firm or similar professional services environment is highly preferred).
  • Experience with Oracle is a plus.
  • Understanding of tax laws and international tax principles.
  • High learning agility of changing or new regulatory & tax legislations to pre-empt any business impact.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel and Spreadsheets.
  • Creative thinking to resolve novel tax problems while supporting the business.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and project management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Arabic, including the ability to communicate with non-tax people on complex tax issues.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

This is a contract position for 9 months with the possibility of being extended although this is not guaranteed.

The position is working hybrid 1-2 days a week from the office, however fully remote can be considered.
