The Opportunity
We are working with a leading organisation in the renewable energy sector to recruit an experienced Site Construction Supervisor based in Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity for a delivery focused construction professional to join a high performing project team and play a key role in the safe and successful delivery of a major renewables infrastructure programme.
The Role
As Site Construction Supervisor you will oversee site work activities to ensure they are delivered in accordance with safety, quality, schedule and environmental requirements. Working closely with contractors, consultants and internal project teams, you will be a key point of contact on site and a trusted representative of the project to a wide range of external stakeholders.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supervising site work activities to ensure delivery in accordance with safety, quality, schedule and environmental requirements
- Coordinating site construction works and activities with contractors and consultants, ensuring all safety documentation is in place
- Verifying that site construction progress and programme are accurately reflected in contractor project documentation
- Providing daily diaries and weekly updates to the Construction Package Project Manager and Construction Project Manager
- Liaising with local authorities, statutory bodies, landowners, tenants, community groups and wider stakeholders
- Attending joint briefings, inspections, audits, meetings and events with the supply chain
- Ensuring project risks are identified, understood and escalated appropriately
- Liaising with Technical, Engineering, Procurement, Finance and Project Services teams to support the procurement and delivery of works packages
- Capturing lessons learned to contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge management initiatives
To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Relevant Engineering Trade or Supervisor qualifications such as City and Guilds or CITB
- Relevant safety qualifications including SSTS, SMSTS and/or NEBOSH
- Ability to review Safe Systems of Work including RAMS and PoWRA, understand Quality Inspection and Test Plans, and undertake Safety and Quality Audits and Inspections on site
- A solid understanding of key project management considerations for major project delivery including planning, cost, risk, quality and commercial management
- Good IT skills including the ability to maintain daily diaries and produce clear weekly reports
- Ability to feed into constructability reviews and lessons learned sessions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with project team members, contractors and external third parties
- Proven experience in the supervision and site construction management of significant work packages in a relevant discipline or subject matter field
- Experience of participating in medium to large construction delivery teams, identifying and managing interfaces in the best interests of the project
- A track record of building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external project stakeholders

- Delivery focused with the ability to achieve strong outcomes in demanding timescales within a high pressure project environment
- Commercially aware with good influencing skills and strong leadership attributes
- Self motivated, well organised and able to work unsupervised managing contractors for small scale works
- Ability to represent the organisation professionally and credibly to external parties
