Overview
We are hiring a Playwright Automation Engineer to support a global technology modernisation programme within a Tier-1 financial services organisation. This role combines both hands-on test automation development and strategic input into test architecture and quality engineering practices. You will play a key role in building scalable automation frameworks while ensuring high standards of software quality across critical applications.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks using Playwright
- Build and execute functional, regression, and end-to-end test suites
- Contribute to the definition of test strategy, standards, and best practices
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing
- Collaborate closely with developers, DevOps engineers, and QA teams
- Analyse test results, identify defects, and support root cause analysis
- Ensure adequate test coverage across applications and services
- Improve test reliability, performance, and maintainability
- Support quality assurance initiatives across multiple Agile teams
- Mentor junior QA engineers and promote automation best practices
- Maintain clear and structured test documentation
Requirements
- 3-7+ years of experience in test automation (level dependent on seniority)
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright
- Experience with Selenium and Cucumber frameworks
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and test integration
- Programming experience in Java, Python, or JavaScript
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of test architecture and automation frameworks (for senior candidates)
- Ability to mentor or support junior team members (for senior candidates)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
